What to Expect During a Root Canal

Thanks to modern anaesthesia and technique, a root canal today feels similar to getting a filling. The procedure removes infected pulp from inside the tooth, cleans the canal, and seals it to prevent further infection.
Most patients report little to no discomfort during the procedure, and any post-treatment sensitivity typically resolves within a few days. Saving your natural tooth through a root canal is almost always preferable to extraction, as it preserves your bite and prevents neighbouring teeth from shifting.
